BISHOFF, Joan Elaine, of Flushing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in the loving care of her family and friends. Joan lived a faith-filled life, was devoted to her family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Flushing. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint. The family will receive visitors Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., at Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing, where the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed at 7:00 pm. There will also be a visitation at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church one hour before the Funeral Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, www.srbcatholic.com, and Angela Hospice, www.angelahospice.org.

Joan was born in Flint, Michigan, on January 27, 1941, to Joseph and Julia Galvas (Bogasky) of Flint. She married Gerald Bishoff, her loving husband of forty-six years, on September 4, 1965. She graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in Flint in 1959, and the University of Michigan – Flint, as a Flint Scholar with Class Honors, in 1979. Upon graduation from high school, Joan worked at Citizens Bank and subsequently earned her accreditation as a Medical Technologist in 1979, after an internship at Hurley Hospital. She worked at West Flint Medical Laboratory and Michigan Clinical Laboratory for many years, with the goal of funding her sons’ Catholic education at Luke M. Powers High School.

Joan was a loving wife, compassionate daughter and caregiver, and the best mom her two sons could ask for. She was a devout Catholic and active parishioner at St. Robert’s. She loved painting and fine arts, playing golf with her family, dining out with her friends, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren. Joan is survived by her sons, Mike Bishoff and his wife Michelle of San Ramon, California, and Tom Bishoff and his wife Beth of Northville, Michigan, and her six grandchildren – Gabrielle, Mark, Alec, Madeline, Paige, and Benjamin. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Galvas and his wife Charlotte. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and five siblings and their spouses – Chester and Helen Galvas; Marion and Rose Galvas; Johnny and Evelyn Buben; Florance and Stephen Daniels; and Helen (Noyce) and Chester Burley.
