GOODRICH, BRUCE ERWIN – Of Lachine age 97, died Friday, December 15, 2023 at Woodhaven Senior Community.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Charles Lindsay officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Visitation 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Bruce was born in Clio, Michigan on August 28, 1926 the son of the late Floyd and Esther Goodrich.
He was a graduate of Flint Central High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Goodrich enjoyed archery, fishing and hunting. He owned Flint Archery Sales, Flint Furniture Studio Upholstery and Silver Springs Hunt Club.
He was a firefighter for the City of Flint for 23 years, retiring in 1979.
Surviving are his children, Bruceen Goodrich, Gary (Caroline) Goodrich and Steven (Sue)Goodrich;
son-in-law, Dale Trudeau;
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn, on January 16, 2015; daughter, Deborah; 2 brothers, Russell and Leon Goodrich.
