REID, Charles Wellington “Goat” of Clio, age 80, journey ended here on earth Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family and his Jojo. Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Eric Stewart officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Charles made his debut here on earth on March 2, 1942 in Flint, Michigan to the late Arthur and Janet (Kinney) Reid. He attended Clio high School and graduated with the class of 1960. He enlisted in the US Army on May 22, 1961 and was honorable discharged on May 21, 1967. Charles married Patti Stamm on October 28, 2000. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Buick for 40 years at the Buick City Plant. He was a member of the UAW Local 599. Charles enjoyed playing softball and was an avid bowler for 40 years. He liked to hunt and fish, however his greatest joy was being a Father, PaPa, and attending all the important events for his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Reid whom he affectionately called Baby; Children, Darrin (Michelle) Reid, Richard “Rick” (Robynn) Reid, Michelle (Damon) Irwin, Darrell Stamm, John (Robin) Reid, Starr (Jason) Doering; Grandchildren, Richard “RC” (Andrea), Jamey, Gaberelle, Heather, Steven, Kyll, DeKodda “Koddie”, Andrew “Drew”, Scott, Hannah (James), Morgan, Shane, Matthew, Ashmin, Miles, Riley, Jason Michael, Michelle, Madelyn, Becca Boo; 16 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; Brother in laws, Arthur Mills, Dallas “Jim” Lavene. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Son, Charles “Chuck” Reid II; Sisters, Marie Klatt,, Lela Mills, Donna Jones; Brother in law, Arthur Jones and Fred Klatt.
