Blakey, Larry T. – of Mt. Morris, age 67, died unexpectedly Friday, June 11, 2021, at his residence. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on Monday at 2PM, on July 11, 2021, at the Auto City Eagles Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
Larry was born on August 30, 1953, in Flint to the late Donald and Phyllis (Eaton) Blakey. He graduated from Elizabeth Ann Johnson High School in 1971. Larry spent many years as a School Bus Driver for Mt. Morris Public Schools; however, he had a passion for music, and was a drummer and singer for many bands over the course of almost 5 decades, he came to be known as the Duke of Earl. He enjoyed performing and visiting with friends everywhere he went. When Larry was not singing or playing the drums, you could find him golfing. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, good sense of humor, and open arms to everyone. Above all, he was a proud grandpa and father.
Surviving Larry are: Son, Jason (Lacy) Blakey; Grandchildren: Cole, and Jax; Siblings: Jon (Nanci) Blakey, Dan (Donna) Blakey, Lucy (Jack) Regis; Several nieces and nephews; Special friends: Gary Eggers, John Edmonds and close cousin, Rich Belinski.
