TEXAS – Arlene Joyce Rodriguez, 65, of Bedias, Tex., passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital, Bryon, Tex.
Arlene was born Jan. 6 1945 in Traverse City the daughter of John Wing Manitowash and Delia J. Hall. On Aug. 9, 1979 in Huntsville, Tex. she married Martin Rodriguez who survives.
For most of her life, Arlene was a homemaker and loved to travel with her husband all over the U.S. and Mexico. Arlene and Martin loved to research and explore historic military forts and in particular, notable old churches.
In addition to her husband, Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Lawler and Charlotte Debo; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence (Evelyn) Manitowash; sisters Mary Manitowash and Thelma Bullis; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Agosha, and a brother, Joseph Manitowash.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 at the Northport Indian Mission Church. Burial will take place on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at Star City Cemetery, Lake City. The Rev. Thomas John will officiate.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
