MERCIER, Valorie Rae (Bloomfield) – of Otisville, MI, age 67, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Friday, December 2, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, December 1, 2022 and 11 AM-12 PM Friday, December 2, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or a charity of one’s choice, in Valorie’s memory.
Valorie was born on July 2, 1955 in Flint, MI, daughter of the late Richard and Anne (Scherba) Bloomfield. She was a graduate of Lakeville Memorial High School Class of 1973. Valorie retired from General Motors Delphi in 2006 after 30 years of service. She loved her flowers, making and selling her crafts, music, dancing and all animals. Valorie devoted countless hours finding homes for animals others would drop off.
Valorie is survived by her daughter, Lacole (Greg Kozma) Mercier; 2 grandchildren, Christian Rainey and Alexis Rainey; many other loving family members and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Anne Bloomfield and Henry the Rooster.
