JONES, Norman Dewayne - Age 90, of Flint Township, died Friday, June 17, 2022. Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service will be available on Norman's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Jim Gosnell officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek V.F.W. Post #3720.
Norman was born May 15, 1932 in Flint, the son of Charles E. and Louise S. (Greer) Jones. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving 3 tours in Vietnam. He married Bernice Howatt and she preceded him in death; he then married Beverly (Kilborne) Hooker and she preceded him in death. Norman retired in 1975 from the U.S. Army and then was employed by Flint Osteopathic Hospital in Security. He was a member and past commander of the V.F.W. Chevrolet Post #3087 and a member of the Swartz Creek American Legion. He also was a member of the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458 F.&A.M.
Surviving are: his stepson, Donald (Dana) Geren of Burton; step grandchildren, Carolyn (Al), Cody, and Samantha; brother, Dayron (Norma) Jones of Flint Township; sister, Marie (Richard) Rupp of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harmon, Donald C., and John Paul Jones. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
