GORDISH, Anna M. - Of Flint, age 93, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at her residence in the presence of family and friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 706 Beach Street, Flint, 48502,
Father James Mangan officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice or St. Matthews Catholic Church.
Visitation 3-8pm Sunday and 12-8pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
Anna was born in Avonmore, Pennsylvania on March 16, 1924. On November 16, 1940, she married Albert Gordish in Virginia. She owned The Harry Cull Insurance Agency. Anna was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and was a member of the Independent Insurance Agents. She enjoyed bowling and playing bridge and spending time with family, especially her grandson who was her pride and joy and the light of her life.
Surviving are daughter, Michele and husband Kory Nichols of Swartz Creek;
grandson, Gregory Daniel (Danny) Asbury of Swartz Creek;
nephew (son) Edward James (Jim) Ploskunak and wife Joanne of Charlo, Montana;
niece, Lisa Pennanen and nephew, Jason Ploskunak;
her “little monkey”, Maddie Colliander;
son-in-law, Robert VanKuren;
special friends, Greg Jenkins, Casey Custer, Debbie Thompson and Shirley Baty.
A special thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at Woodhaven Senior Community, past and present, and to McLaren Hospice for bringing her comfort in her final days.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, son Albert Paul, grandson Albert Paul, Jr, daughter, Barbara VanKuren, and all of her brothers and sisters.
