LAYNE, Maria Helen – Of Goodrich, age 94, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at The Pines of Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Charles R. Sexton officiating.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial in Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan.
Maria was born in Camrose, Alberta, Canada on October 10, 1919, the daughter of Peter and Lillian (Raycraft) Kettelson.
On October 25, 1940 she married Charles Layne in Detroit, Michigan. They lived in Detroit until 1974, moving to Goodrich in 2013.
She was a member of Grace Emmanuel Bible Church.
Surviving are three sons, C. Roger (Lonnie) Layne, Ernest D. (Elaine) Layne and Mark A. (Gail) Layne;
13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded by husband, Charles, on December 14, 2010; two sisters-in-law, Chloe and Heretta.
