MURRAY, SUZANNE MARIE – Of Flushing, age 67, died Monday, December 12, 2022 at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Ken Coughlin officiating.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Suzanne Murray Memorial Scholarship.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Sue was born in Flint, Michigan on September 20, 1955, the daughter of Theodore Joseph Lussier and Jeanne Marie (Diebold) Lussier.
She grew up in Flint and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1973 and was a Wildcat cheerleader.
Sue married the love of her life, Rick Murray in 1977 and was married 45 years.
She was a School Cook in the Flushing School District for 20 years.
She had a passion for crafting, cooking, and shopping. She always made sure that every inch of her home was decorated for each holiday. Sue never forgot a birthday and always made you feel special with a thoughtful message and personalized gift. She loved visiting with family and friends, traveling, winning at the casino, and supporting her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are husband, Richard;
three children, Angela (Matt) Gerhardt of Pittsburgh, PA,
Richard Jr. (Jennie) Murray of Canton, MI and
Ryan (fiancée Julie Pope) Murray of Howell, MI;
grandchildren, Ellie and Ava Murray;
brother, Joseph Lussier of Flushing, MI;
sisters, Denise Dale of Fenton, MI and Michelle (Tim) VanBuskirk of Flint, MI;
sisters-in-law, Diane Cooper of Flushing, MI and Linda (Johnson) Baldaray of Riverside, CA;
brother-in-law, Bill (Pam) Murray of Bloomfield Hills, MI;
many cherished nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Jeanne Lussier;
parents-in-law, Charles and Arlene Murray; sister-in-law, Cathy Cady and niece, Michelle Cooper.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all who sent the many well-wishes, birthday cards, and messages of support during her yearlong battle.
