CUPIT, Richard W. “Dick” – Of Swartz Creek, age 77, died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 1PM Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Visitation 12-3pm and 5-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Richard “Dick” was born in Flint on April 17, 1937. On July 10, 1993, he married Carleen VanSyckle in Barryton, MI. Dick served in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors and served as a Mundy Township fire fighter for several years and was Fire Chief from 1988 to 2005. Dick was very active in the Genesee County Association of Fire Chiefs. Dick was a member of the Swartz Creek Lodge #458 F.&A.M.
Surviving are wife, Carleen;
step-children, Bryan and wife Connie McLachlan of Florida, Rob and wife Helen McLachlan of Texas, and Tracey Davis of Fenton;
many grandchildren;
brother, John Cupit of Rankin;
sister, Betty Anderson of MO.
