REA, Melinda A. “Bones” – of Flint, age 57, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 1 PM on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. Robert C. Bacik officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM – 8 PM Sunday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Melinda was born in Saginaw, MI on April 21, 1958, daughter of the late Shirley (Breeden) Rea. She shared her life with Maggie Mendoskin and she preceded her in death on December 5, 2011. Melinda loved working at Genesee Schools in a number of capacities for 11 years. Prior to that, she was a security guard at Courtland Center, Genesee County Parks & Rec and the campgrounds.
Melinda is survived by daughter, Sky Mendoskin; son, Alan Smith; sisters, Yvonne (Glynda Holman) Breeden, Bert McCary, Bonnie (Tom) Hyde and Penny (Jack) Parker; brothers, John (Rhonda Kaye) Rea and Dennis (Bobbie) Breeden; aunt, Susan (George) Matney; special friends, Bill and Amy Monroe.
