KENDALL, Doris B. (Bliss) (Mowl) – of Mt. Morris, MI, age 89, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at McLaren-Flint. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Dieudonné Ntakarutimana celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer, MI. The family will receive visitors 3-6 PM Friday, November 19, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 9-10 AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Friday, November 19, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or Eastside Mission, in Doris’s memory. Per family request, all visitors are required to properly wear a face mask. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Doris was born in Flint, MI on March 14, 1932, daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (May) Bliss. She married Robert F. Mowl on July 8, 1950 and shared 34 years together until his death on September 28, 1984. Her aunt brought her together with Harry “Jack” Kendall and they married on October 5, 1985. Jack and Doris shared the next 22 years together until his death on November 8, 2007. Doris enjoyed her family and friends, singing, playing the organ, her cats, shrewdly playing cards and games, and wintering in Zephyrhills, FL with Jack. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint, MI.
Doris is survived by 6 children, Lynn Woodruff, Tammy (Dan) Krul, Robin (Phil) Hester, Jamie (Shawn) Bone, Bill (Andra) Mowl and Leanne (Jerry) Fellows; son-in-law, Dave (Ann) Gerow; 4 step-children, Gary (Dawn) Kendall, Debbie (Don) Goldsmith, Jan (Frank) Robinson and Cindy (Ora) Wolf; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; one great-great-grandchild; 3 sisters-in-law, Gladys Bliss, Delores (Roy) Bennett and Joann Mowl; brother-in-law, Gerald (Charlotte) Mowl; special friend, Kay McDairmid; many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Bliss; husbands, Robert Mowl and Jack Kendall; daughter, Vanessa Gerow; stepson, Robert Kendall; brother, Lloyd Bliss Jr.; 2 brothers-in-law, Harold (Roberta) Mowl and Buck Mowl; 2 sisters-in-law, Mona McCarron and Betty (Snuff) Long and son-in-law, Terry Woodruff.
