VanEckhoutte, Ronald T. "Yogi" - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died May 22, 2022. Services will be announced later. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek.
He was born November 2, 1939 in Flint, the son of Julius and Hazel (DeLong) VanEckhoutte. He married Deborah McFarlin on December 23, 1974 in Clio. He was employed at Borneman and Peterson as a machinist retiring in 2004 with 40 years of service. He was a Bass player and singer. He enjoyed fishing on Hubbard Lake with his grandkids. Surviving are: his wife of 47 years, Deborah; children, Heather (Shawn) Ramsey of Swartz Creek, Helen (Jeff) Hamby of Flint, Chance VanEckhoutte of Ft. McCoy, FL., Carrie McKenzie of Flint, son-in-law John Danko, and son -in -law Doug May; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick; son Matthew McKenzie; and daughters Debbie Kaake, Melissa Danko, and Patricia Genett, Robin May. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
