ROBERTS, Joseph William – of Davison, age 87, passed away May 14, 2014 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 4:30 PM Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Dr. Tommy McDoniel officiating. Private Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery on a later date. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Saturday and 3:30-4:30 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Joseph was born in Cornwall, England on July 27, 1926, son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Kitto) Roberts. He graduated from Flint Technical High School and attended GMI. Joseph married Phyllis Joanne Hocken on July 9, 1949. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #23 and the Rayna Raiders. Joseph worked for 47 years at Buick Engineering.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Susan (Loren) Sohn; son, Thomas Harry (Melissa) Roberts; grandchildren, Raya, Patrick, Masha, Dasha, Ian, Luc and Amelia; lifelong friends, Joe Klobuchar and Merle Supernaw; his beloved cat, Harry.
