SWARTZ, Anna Alee Joice - age 79 of Flushing - Follower of Jesus Christ, servant of the Lord, faithful wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a friend to many, went home to her Eternal Rest on October 21, 2021. She was surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Road, Flint. Pastor Jon Gildner and Pastor Dave Hintz officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 4PM-8PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and 10 AM until 11 AM Tuesday at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Carriage Town Ministries.
Anna was born October 10, 1942 in Croswell, MI, the daughter of Cecil Ephriam and Melita Aileen (Clements) Maxfield. She married J. Dennis Swartz in Flint, October 4, 1969. Anna received a B.S Degree in Music from Bethel University. She was a Music Teacher in the South Bend and Davison Schools for 10 years. Anna was the Choir Director at Faith Missionary Church in Flushing from 1966-1975. She was also a long serving member of Central Church of the Nazarene where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Choir. Anna loved music, especially the Gaither's, chocolate and her family pets.
Anna is survived by: her children, Julie (Steve) Niemann, Jonathan (Sara) Swartz, and Jeremy (Sarah) Swartz; grandchildren, Nathan Niemann, Kali Swartz, Jackson Swartz, Carter Swartz, Kamryn Swartz, and Emma Swartz; sister, Zelpha Odoerfer; several nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, J. Dennis Swartz; brothers, Vaughn Maxfield and Neil Maxfield; sister in law, Jacquelyn Maxfield; brother in law, Earl Odoerfer.
