CRIPPS, JOSEPH, SR. – Of Fenton, age 72, died Friday, October 20, 2023 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Those desiring may make contributions to Special Olympics Area 13.
Visitation 12 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Joseph was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 7, 1951, the son of the late Leonard and Mary (Mocnik) Cripps.
He was a member of the Fenton Moose Lodge and member of the Monday Club.
He was an avid golfer and bowler. He was the 1990 State Bowling Champion. He was the “biggest Detroit sports fan.”
Joseph worked for Consumers Energy most of his life.
Surviving are children, Mary Cripps,
Katherine Berg and
Joseph Cripps Jr.;
son-in-law, John Berg;
Proud papa of 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Jack and Charlie;
nieces, Michelle, Mackenzie, Brookie and Ava.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Farrell.
