TESSMER, Steven Mark – of Davison, MI, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, Michigan 48423. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
Steven was born in Flint on July 17, 1957, son of Arthur and Phyllis (Brousseau) Tessmer. On June 11, 1976, he married the love of his life, Nancy Gross, in Davison, and together they were preparing to celebrate 50 wonderful years of marriage. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, adventure, and the joy of raising their two daughters. Steven was known for his incredible work ethic and dedication. He began working in autobody repair alongside his father at just 15 years old and later proudly carried on the family tradition by taking over the business in the 1980s. He was the proud owner of Wolverine Autobody Repair Shop and Soggy Bottom Bar, both in Flint. Above all else, Steven cherished his family. His daughters were truly the apple of his eye and he would often say, “You can’t scare me, I have two daughters!” His grandchildren were the greatest joy and highlight of his life. He loved creating memories with those he loved most, especially through the many family vacations they shared over the years. Steven’s love, devotion, hardworking spirit, and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steven is survived by his wife, Nancy Tessmer; daughters, Kristy (R.J.) Munger and Shana (Andrew) Aguirre; grandchildren: Skylar, Logan, Steven, Jack, and Cecelia; siblings: Michael Tessmer, Carol (Robert) Bradley and Cathy Tessmer; sisters-in-law, Cindy Tessmer and Debbie Tessmer; special sister-in-law, Beverly Sargent; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; siblings: Gary Tessmer, Danny Tessmer and Connie Diehl; sister-in-law, Marcia Tessmer.
