Betty Marie Shoults, age 98 of Mayville, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehabilitation surrounded by her family.
She was born September 22, 1927 in North Branch, MI to Leo Neil and Rose (Firmingham) Klauka. Betty was a graduate of North Branch High School with the Class of 1945. She married Chester Shoults on November 25, 1948. After raising her family, Betty worked at H.D.C Lapeer, MI and Wearabouts, Caro, MI. She enjoyed reading and working in her flower gardens.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda (Anthony) Lopez and Leona (Dale) Patten; grandchildren, Lesley (Patten) Seay, Allison (Piesczak) Myers, Elaine Patten, Clinton Piesczak, Amanda (Patten) Rodriguez; and 6 great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Shoults; daughter, Anita Shoults; parents, Leo and Rose Klauka; brothers, Leo (Bud), Orville, Elwyn, Leland and Roy; and sisters, Dorothy Harmon and Flossie Case.
The family will receive visitors from 10 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Avram Funeral Home with a Funeral Service being held at 1 PM with Pastor Nathanael Gwinn officiating.
Burial will take place in Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer.
