GIDDINGS, Norman W. Of Grand Blanc, age 89, loving husband and father, went to our Lord on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
Leaving behind wife, Eula (Connie), son, Chuck and two daughters, Pat and Juanita; two brothers, Jack and wife Jackie, and Bruce and wife Annette; sister, Sue and husband Bill; sisters-in-law, Josie and Jonnie; brother-in-law, Delmar (Tiny); Eighteen grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Norm worked at General Motors for over thirty years. Norm was a Committee Man at Buick. He served our country in the Navy during the Korean War. Norm loved to fish and hunt, smoke and grill food outside, and bird watching. He enjoyed playing cards and board games, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Leona, father Louis, sister Loa Jean, brother-in-law Ed Merrow, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elsie and Delmar Brown; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Roy Merrow; sons-in-law, Tom Rood and Clinton Smith Jr.; grandson, Jake and great-great daughter, Sylvia.
Norm will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew him.
Visitation will be held 1-7pm Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson's Foundation and Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
We would like to thank the staff at Mission Point Rehab of Clarkston, MI and the wonderful hospice nurses at McLaren Hospice.
