Maxine Janice Cook Hall Koch

Born: 12/26/1926
Died: 10/31/2022
Age: 95
Community: Davison, MI

Maxine Janice Cook Hall Koch was born on December 2, 1926 in Flint, Michigan and died on October 31, 2022 in Davison, Michigan. She was 95 years old.
Maxine was the daughter of Carl and Thelma Cook who preceded her in death, and the sister of Ruth, Carl, Wayne, Beverly, Alberta, Patsy, and Patricia all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Martha Alberts.

She moved with her parents and siblings to Davison, Michigan her senior year of high school where she met George Hall in economics class. They fell in love and were married in 1948. They lived in Davison for most of their married life where they built a close-knit family and were married for 42 years before George’s passing in 1990. Everyone who knew them, knew that George was the great love of her life. She married Irvin (Irv) Koch in 1996 and he was her
steadfast companion until proceeding her in death in 2020. Maxine frequently said, “Whatever happens, we will stick together because family is the most important thing.” She was incredibly proud of her four children, Brenda Hall Knaack (Robert), Susan Hall McKenney (Wayne), Michael Hall (Sabrina), and Timothy Hall. And she deeply loved each of her five grandchildren, Krystn McKenney Fellah (Jamal), Shannon McKenney Shubert (Steven), Natalie Hall (Matt Erspamer), Nicholas Hall, and Joel Knaack (Mary Talmachoff) and her four great grandchildren - Dylan and Aiden Hall and Samantha and Alexander McKenney Shubert - who lit her smile each time they were near. She is also survived by Irv’s four children, Kathy Beauchamp, Larry Koch, Patti Reen, Judy Parr and their families.

Maxine was always generous with her love, especially with her children and grandchildren who knew they would hear “Gramma loves you” multiple times each visit and phone call. Maxine was also extremely generous with her time. She was incredibly active in the Davison community and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Some of her favorite activities included: serving as an election poll worker - which she did every single election until 2016, contributing crafts to the church bazaar, knitting hundreds of hats over
the years to donate to the local birthing hospitals for babies born in the winter months, quilting beautiful and elaborate quilts to share with family and loved ones, feeding and watching birds - she was especially enamored with red
cardinals and yellow song birds, and attending services at Davison United Methodist Church. She was so proud of her role as an organizer of church luncheons - especially funeral dinners. She sewed, collected, and gifted teddy bears and dolls, and absolutely loved the opportunity to host family and friends in her home - exclaiming “Oh happy
day!” each time a beloved visitor arrived at her door.

She was a very special person to so many who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held at Hansen’s Funeral Home (421 North Main Street Davison, Michigan 48423) on Sunday November 6, 2022 from 2pm-6pm and Funeral Service will be held at Davison Methodist Church (207 East Third Street Davison, MI 48423) at 12pm on Monday November 7, 2022, followed by graveside service at Davison Cemetery.
