CARDINAL, Catherine “JoAnne” – of Montrose, age 85, died Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Cranberry Park of Clio. Funeral service will be held 1PM Thursday, January 19, 2023, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
JoAnne was born October 3, 1937, in Wisconsin, to the late Edward and Mildred (Shock) Blystone. She attended Montrose Community Schools where she received her high school diploma. On June 8, 1963, JoAnne married the love of her life, Theodore “Ted” Cardinal, and together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. JoAnne worked as a waitress for many years before becoming a stay-at-home mother and was a Sunday school teacher for some time during her younger years. In her spare time, JoAnne enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.
JoAnne is forever loved by her sons: Doug (Debbie) Cardinal and Kenneth Cardinal; Grandchildren: Kenneth Cardinal and Diana (Jacob) McKay; Great Grandchildren: Abel McKay, Isabella McKay, Adalynn Cardinal, Abella Cardinal, Gavin Burnside, and Justin Cardinal; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. JoAnne was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Cardinal; Parents; Granddaughter, Megan Ward; Sister, Janette Spencer.
