Christopher Joseph Bueche, age 61, of Flushing, died peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the University of Michigan Hospital, lovingly surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held 12-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home, in Flushing. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Father Jonathan Perrotta will be officiating. A private family burial will follow. In honor of Chris, contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or MDS Foundation (Myelodysplastic Syndrome Foundation).
Chris was born on April 23, 1961, the son of Philip and Judith (Streicher) Bueche. Chris was one of seven children. Chris graduated college from Ohio Tech and started working for Allen-Bradley. In 1998, after the death of their father, Chris and Denny became owners of Bueche’s Food World. Chris devoted his life to making the stores a success and appreciated his loyal staff and customers.
Chris won the lottery when he met the love of his life, Darcy. Chris held Darcy’s hand on October 7, 2013, as they married. Darcy held Chris’s hand on January 1, 2023, as they said their final goodbyes. Chris was a devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend. He put the needs of others first and had a strong presence in life. Chris enjoyed his time in Marathon, Florida, “a little piece of paradise,” as he described it. He cherished his annual trips to Mackinaw Island with friends, taking the train to Chicago and spending as much time with his grandkids as possible. Chris had a great love and respect for all types of music, pizza (particularly, Gina’s) and Ketchup. His cheesy Dad jokes were endless and music lyrics outstanding. He was a self-taught handyman who could fix anything. His sense of humor, smile and laugh will be sorely missed by all.
Chris is survived by his wife, Darcy; his children, Rob (Erin) Bueche, William (Melissa) Bueche, Lisa Bueche, Stephen (Marisa) Bueche, and Brady Stasa; nine grandchildren, Chloe, Sophie, Maisie, Charlotte, Theodore, Maren, Mack, Josephine and Stella; stepmother, Renate Bueche; his siblings, Mariane (Matt) Crumm, Phyllis (Ted) Zofchak, Denny (Cheryl) Bueche, Terri (Jeff) Tomczak, Phil (Colleen) Bueche, Connie Bueche; brother-in-law, Todd (Carolyn) Williams, his father-in-law, Jim (Annette) Williams; and the mother of his children, Carri Bueche. Chris had many special nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Judith Bueche; his mother-in-law, Judy Williams; and his brother Paul Bueche. |
