It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Louis (Louie) Johnson Jr., who left us on August 31, 2026. Louie was a cherished son, devoted brother, loving husband, father, and, later in life enjoyed his roles as a grandpa.
Louie grew up in Davison, Michigan and graduated from Davison High School, where he made his mark as a state high school wrestling champion. He was competitive and dedicated on the mats and throughout his life. Louie served in the Navy, and then he worked and retired with Pepsi, as a driver.
Louie is survived by his beloved wife, Renee Johnson. He leaves behind his two sons, Maxwell Johnson and Jacob (Johnson) Venture, and their mother, Michelle Johnson. Louie was a source of unwavering support and love for his family, which also includes his loving parents, Mary and Howard Johnson; his two sisters, R Rose Johnson-DePalma and her husband, Randy DePalma, and Dawn Johnson and her husband, Gary Nelson.
He was a visible example of family unity for his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and Renee’s three children and grandchildren, all of whom will miss him.
He will be interred at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Holly, Michigan and his memorial service will be announce at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to veteran’s organizations. |
