BURTON, Jack T. – Of Flint, age 92, died peacefully Monday, December 2, 2024 at Hampton Manor of Burton.
Funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Chaplain Don Cox officiating.
Visitation 10am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Private burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Jack was born in Flint, Michigan on February 22, 1932, the son of the late William and Katherine (Adams) Burton. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954. He received a Good Conduct Medal, Defense Service Medal and Navy Occupation Service Medal. Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening, Jack volunteered at Hurley ER for over 30 years. On November 23, 1957 he married Helen Hart in Lansing and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2005. Mr. Burton was employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division for 27 years and was a member of UAW Local 651. Jack loved the Lord. He was a committed believer. Jack loved and served at his church, Central Church of the Nazarene. He was a faithful prayer warrior. He and Helen were intentional in their service to the Lord. They reached out to the younger families.
Surviving are special friends, Dr. Greg (Nicki) Streff, David Stratton, Denny (Jenny) Dutton and Jeanette Patton;
Niece, Sally McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, companion, Pat Seymore, brother, Gerald and sister, Geraldine.
