RAPPUHN, Barbara Joyce “Helen” - Of Grand Blanc, age 80, went home to be with her loving Lord and Savior Friday, August 27, 2021 at her son’s home with her loving family present.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Chaplain Dan Vandervelde and Chaplain Tom Tengler co-officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Visitation 1-8pm Tuesday and 10am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Barbara was born in Richlands, Virginia on March 27, 1941, the daughter of the late Banner B. and Alice M. (Ball) Wilson. She married the love of her life Fredrick Rappuhn on November 25, 1964. Sadly after just 21 short years of being happily married, Fredrick went home to be with the Lord. In 1998, Barb married Troy Ashlock, and had 9 happy years together before he went on to be with the Lord. Barbara was so full of love and laughter; she loved to help others and put her children and grandchildren before herself. Barbara was an amazing mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend!
Surviving are her sons, Kenneth (Jennifer) Rappuhn of Atlas Twp. Fredrick (Stephanie) Rappuhn of Grand Blanc; stepchildren, Frederick (Patty) Rappuhn of Davison and Valerie Plamondon of Burton;
Grandchildren, Kenneth, Kyle, Tanner, Mackenzie, Savannah and Connor; many step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild with another on the way;
sisters, Brenda Hastings, Carol (AD) Dalton, brothers, Doug (Germaine) Wilson, Kelly (Carol) Wilson, Jerry Wilson;
many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Rappuhn, husband Troy Ashlock, son, James Sparks, brothers, Bob Wilson, Dean Wilson, Leon Wilson, Sister, Erma Wilson, her Parents and Son-in-Law Bob Plamondon.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for their loving care and support over the past several months.
