BAILEY, Wayne M. – of Clio, age 80, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital of Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, March 1, 2021 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6901 N. Saginaw St., in Flint. Pastor Randy Schultz officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park with full military honors. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 12PM until 8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Wayne was born August 21, 1940 in Whiting, Missouri to the late Alfus and Pauline (Morris) Bailey. He attended Kearsley Schools. Wayne married Gloria J. Lowell on September 3, 1960. She preceded him in death December 14, 2018. Mr. Bailey is a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Buick with 40 years of service. Wayne was a faithful member of Our savior Lutheran Church in Flint where he enjoyed volunteering and his social coffee group with friends. He enjoyed traveling, bird watching, playing cards, watching Michigan sports, and playing the lottery. Above all, Wayne loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are: Children: Dana (Scott) VanAlst, and DeShaun (Heather) Jackson; Grandchildren: Kalsey (Jimmy) Boots, Kara VanAlst, and Renee Youker; 10 great grandchildren; Loving sister, Jeannie Garrett; Special uncle, Russ Rickman; Sisters in law: Darlene Bethel, Bev Clawson, and Sandy Williams; Wayne’s church family at Our Savior Lutheran Church; 3 great grand dogs; Many special nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and dear friends.
