BESANT, Lena C. “Kaye” – of Burton, age 91, passed away February 17, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Harold Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday and 10-11 AM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Kaye was born in Brainerd, MN on July 19, 1922, daughter of the late William and Lena (Schick) Miles. She married Howard Besant on June 21, 1947.
Kaye is survived by her husband, Howard; son, Jim (Brenda) Besant; grandchildren, Caitlin (John) Houghton and Brendan Maroney; great-grandchildren, Isabella Maroney and Nico Houghton; special grand dog, Nick. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Maroney.
