KUNKLEMAN, ROBERT L. – Of Mundy Township, age 91, died Friday, November 27, 2020.
A private funeral service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial immediately following service at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America and/or your local Lions Club.
Visitation 11am-12pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on February 18, 1929, the son of the late Lawrence Monroe and Mary Irinda (Lentz) Kunkleman. He grew up in Flint, graduating from Flint Technical High School in 1947.
On June 19, 1954 he married Beverly Eileen Rohrback in Endicott, NY and she preceded him in death in 2004. In 2006 he married Betty Koepke and she preceded him in death in 2012. Mr. Kunkleman was employed by General Motors as Supervisor at the Grand Blanc Tank Plant, retiring in 1987. He was in the Michigan National Guard from 1947-1968, retiring as Master Sergeant. He was an active leader in Boy Scout Troop #114, Rankin and the Rankin Lions Club for many years.
Surviving are his sons, Kevin (Jean) of Flint, Dale (Clarissa) of Huntertown, Indiana;
Daughter, Joan Slama Miller of Mundy Township;
grandchildren, Michael Slama, Sarah Slama, Kara Kunkleman, Leah Kunkleman, Ella Kunkleman, Jessica Hostatler, Jennifer Goodin, Jordan Kunkleman and Jamie Kunkleman;
and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his 4 sisters, Helen Wells, Evelyn DePew, Betty Higby and Mary Ann Cullen.
