HUTCHISON, Gary Flint - Of Burton, age 78, died Monday, May 17, 2021 at his residence.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. May 21, 2021 at the funeral home, Deacon Omar Odette officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Gary was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the son of the late Hollis and Ethette (Schafer) Hutchison.
He was a Combat Vet, served in the USMC during the Vietnam War.
In May 1972 he married Elizabeth Cook in Flint.
He was a devoted father and husband.
He loved to play cribbage with his father and family. He was an avid movie watcher, history buff and was extremely intelligent.
He loved his dog, Dozer.
Gary was a member of the VFW Post #2777.
Mr. Hutchison was employed by GM for 42 years.
Surviving are wife, Elizabeth;
children, Gloria (Fran), Gary Jr. (Jennifer), Connie (Richard), Sherri (Art) and Lisa (Dave);
grandchildren, Leslie Mae, Kasey and Vincent;
brother, Keith;
beloved companion, Dozer.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki and brother, Ron Hutchison.
