HENSON, Yon Hwa – Of Davison, age 75, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Ascension in Saginaw.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Hakbae Moon officiating.
Laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Unity Korean Presbyterian Church of Flint.
Visitation 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Yon Hwa was born in Seoul, Korea on March 21, 1947.
Surviving are daughter, Michele and husband Michael Anderer;
four grandchildren, Nolan, Nena, Nevan and Nate, who called her Harmony;
“sister”, Chun Cha (Douglas) Pollard;
close friends, Dr. and Mrs. Soo Young Hwang and cousin, Waynoma Strong.
She was a beloved member of Unity Korean Presbyterian Church of Flint. She was a member of the Korean American Women’s Association, where she served as President.
Yon loved traveling with her husband. On summer days, going with her friends to pick Kosari. She loved gardening and cooking. She shared her food with everyone. She enjoyed taking soup to anyone in need, and baking the best Korean rice cakes. She loved to knit gifts for everyone.
Harmony loved playing cards and Bingo, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren, and being everyone’s Harmony.
