Artha J. Rawlings, age 76, of Flushing, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. The Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 starting at 4PM until 7PM and on Saturday, February 4, 2023 starting at 11AM until 1PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1PM at Sharp Funeral Home in Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Artha's name to Buddy Forever Foundation. Artha was born on February 20, 1946 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Arthur & Joy Watson. She graduated in 1964 from Southwestern High School. She continued her education in cosmetology and became a hair stylist. She married the love of her life, Kenneth "Ken" on July 20, 1963 in Flint, Michigan and together they where blessed with their two sons, Ron and Ryan. In her earlier years Artha enjoyed bowling but her true passion was golf. She was apart of several woman's golf leagues and was proud to say she had a Hole in One. Artha was a hair stylist for over 30 years she worked at both Talk of the Town and Mynards Salon. She volunteered at McLaren Auxiliary. Artha spent many wonderful years traveling with Ken but her fondest memories where those spent up north at the family cottage in Au Gres, Point Lookout. There she had her little jet boat, Look Out Baby. Artha's pride and joy where her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she attended as many school and sporting events as she could.
Artha is survived by her husband, Ken; two sons, Ron (Marlene) Rawlings and Ryan (Sheri) Rawlings; 8 grandchildren, Kelly (Pete) Tucker, Michael (Chrissy) Rawlings, Sydney (Vaughn) Kowalczk, Nolan Rawlings, Brendan Rawlings, Abby Rawlings, Andrew Rawlings and Evan Rawlings; 5 great-grandchildren, Antoine, Eric, Brandon, Dallas and Ryder. She is also leaving behind the most dearest of friends Earlynn Frye and the Frye family. She is further survived by many other dear family remembers and friends too numerous to list. In addition to her parents Arthur & Joy she was preceded in death by her step-father, Merle Wright. |
