BARTON, Frances J. - Of Flushing, age 90, died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Living Joy Assisted Living.
A private funeral service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Reverend Harold K. Polk Jr. officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 11am-1pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Frances was born in Flint, Michigan on September 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Lorriane Cook, and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life. She attended the University of Missouri where she met Norman W. Barton and they were married on May 18, 1952. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 20 years and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Barton was employed by the Genesee County Health Department for 10 years retiring in 1989.
Surviving are her children, Martha Barton, Carol and husband Frank Marczynski, Lori Barton and husband Roy Peterson, and Larry Barton;
6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, on May 28, 2007.
