GROOMS, Nina Naomi – of Clio, age 88, died May 19, 2022 at her son’s residence. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, May 27, 2022 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor John Southern officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Charity of Choice.
Nina was born May 22, 1933 to the late Ralph and Hallie (Buchanan) Proffer. She grew up in Bloomfield, Missouri and graduated high school there. On May 25, 1957 she married Eddie Grooms in Grand Blanc, Michigan and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2000. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she worked at the Ternstedt Plant on Coldwater Road as an Inspector with 38 years of service. Nina was a member of the Clio church of Christ and was very active. She loved her church and enjoyed being a pastor’s wife. Nina had a sweet tooth and loved turtles, coconut crème pie, peanut brittle, and Betty Buchanan’s chicken and dressing. She enjoyed flowers, beading and traveling. She was very proud to have lived in her home for 52 years.
Surviving are: Children, Rodney Grooms (Thomas Manfrin), Connie Grooms (Gary Wiens); Grandchildren, Matt (Candice) Donahue, Scott Donahue, Linsey Donahue; Great Grandchildren, Haley, Trenton, Emily, Veronica Donahue; Nieces and Nephews, Jerry Proffer, Galen Ramsey, Rita Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Eddie Grooms; Siblings, Seldon Proffer, Virginia Ramsey, Marcella Proffer, Vernon Proffer.
