Sedlarik, Frank Thomas of Flushing, age 79, died Monday, October 19, 2026, at Hurley Medical Center. A memorial luncheon will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Flushing Community Church. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Old Newsboys of Flint.
Frank was born in Flint, Michigan on March 21, 1947, the son of John and Pauline (Hall) Sedlarik. He was a graduate of Ainsworth High School, class of 1965. It was there he met and fell in love with Janet Tarrence. The two were married on June 22, 1968, in Flint. Frank attended Flint Junior College and served an apprenticeship with GM. He began working as a Tool and Die Maker at Flint Tool and Die, retiring after 30 years. Janet and Frank lived in Swartz Creek for many years, raising their family.
After retirement, they would spend their winters in Bokeelia, Florida where Frank loved to fish. Frank’s greatest passion was classic cars, especially Corvettes. He was very active, enjoying basketball, softball, bowling and golf. Frank was an avid sports fan, U of M, Michigan State and the Detroit Lions and Tigers were among his favorites. He also had a love for dogs and was sure to have a treat on hand for them.
Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet; children, Matt and wife Leslie Sedlarik, Keri and husband Troy Setera, Torie and husband John Gibbons; beloved grandchildren, Ava, Grant, Drake, Taylor, Palmer, Addison; sister, Darlene and husband Walt Duvernois; and several nieces and nephews, including John Sedlarik and Brent Howd. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Sedlarik and infant brother, Ralph Sedlarik.
