Born in Millington, Tennessee, and raised in Michigan, David spent part of his childhood in Grayling before settling in Flint. He was a gifted mechanic whose talent and passion for working with his hands were evident to everyone who knew him. Whether it was tuning up an engine, building with his beloved Snap-on tools, or racing remote control cars, David put his heart into everything he did.
His mechanical skills were passed down from his Grandpa Stocker, who shared not just knowledge, but a love for figuring things out. David often called his grandpa when he was stuck on a job-trusting his wisdom and strengthening their bond through a shared passion for fixing things.
A proud biker and a true craftsman, David loved his motorcycle and dirt bikes as much as he loved working on them. He left his mark not just through his work, but literally-he often tagged his initials, DLS, on whatever he touched, a signature move that reminded others he had been there and made it better.
More than anything, David was a proud and loving father. He leaves behind his two sons, Nathanel Flesher and Tristen Stocker, who carry with them many things they learned from their dad. His passion for fixing and riding motorcycles left a lasting impression, and his legacy will live on through them.
David was known for his big heart and his willingness to drop everything to help someone in need. He built strong relationships over the years and was the kind of man you could always count on-dependable, loyal, and generous with both his time and talents.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Anne Johnson, and her husband Jack R Johnson Jr (Spike); his father, Daniel Ernest Stocker Jr.; his sister, Mindy Shilts; his brothers, Daniel Stocker, Joseph Stocker, and his youngest brother, Kaleb Stocker. Survived by Grandmother Ruth Ann Stocker. David also leaves behind as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a circle of extended family.
David's personality shined in the little things he loved: Mountain Dew, watermelon Red Bull, and Skittles were his go-to favorites. And no breakfast was complete without a tall stack of pancakes, topped with peanut butter and syrup-just the way he liked them.
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Violet Anna Trickey, who heartbreakingly passed just one day before him; and his Aunt Amber Trickey, who passed away on May 2nd 2025. He is preceded by his Grandfather Daniel E Stocker Sr who passed away in 2022 and his Grandfather Richard John Trickey in 1981. He now reunites with many beloved aunts, uncles, and family members who went before him.
He will be remembered for his sharp skills, mischievous sense of humor, deep love for his family, and his favorite color-Snap-on green. His presence, his laughter, and his unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
