Donna Jeanne Selves – age 86, of Flint Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on November 13, 2025, while surrounded by her family. Visitation will take place from 11:00AM until the time of service at 11:30AM on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Flushing Community Church of the Nazarene, 9500 W Pierson Rd, Flushing, Michigan. Funeral arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes- Miller Road Chapel.
Donna was born in Flint, Michigan, on May 26, 1939, to Lyle and Dorothy (Metcalf) Bonney. Donna married Edward “Ted” Selves on April 19, 1958, in Flint. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before he passed in November 2020.
She worked for many years at Sears and Sam’s Club in Flint. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, cooking, and baking. Donna was selfless and always made sure others were cared for. She loved her family and friends deeply and unconditionally. She always looked forward to spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For 50 years she enjoyed summer camping trips with family and friends to Brevoort Lake Campground in the upper peninsula. In recent years she enjoyed spending the cold winter months in Florida with her son, daughter-in-law, and grand-dog, Sophie.
Donna is survived by children Charles (Nancy) Selves, Randy (Dawn) Selves, and Deanna Selves; grandchildren Kristen Selves and Lindsey (Ryan) Strom; great-grandchildren Finley, Vivian and Easton Strom; brother Douglas Bonney; sister Carolyn Abeare; sisters-in-law Sharon Bonney, Shirley Mulligan, and Violet Porritt; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward “Ted”; parents Lyle and Dorothy Bonney; and brother Dennison Bonney.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to a charity of their choice in memory of Donna. |
