Jack was born in Flint, Michigan on September 29, 1932. He grew up and lived in the Flint area his entire life. Jack and his family lived in a wonderful neighborhood surrounded by family and friends, many of whom were Volga Germans. He enjoyed a close knit community that went to school, church and social events together. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1951 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956 during the Korean War, discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Before he served in the U.S. Air Force, he met the love of his life, Betty Shumaker and they married in 1955. He worked at AC Spark Plug and retired after 34 years. Jack and Betty were dedicated to family and serving their church. They also enjoyed spending time up north at their cottage on Au Sable Lake: fishing, sitting on the dock and boating around the lake on his wooden speedboat. He served as a member of the First Reformed Church, renamed as Peace Presbyterian Church. Volunteering countless hours, he helped to design, supervise and build the church on Elms Road. He also gave of his time with hours of service to Willowbrook Manor, calling BINGO on a weekly basis. Family and friends relied on Jack to offer sound advice, a listening ear, another perspective, a story from the past and always leaving others better when they left his company. He was a man of integrity, honor and dedication. He will always be remembered and greatly missed.
Surviving are his sister, Marlene Davis of Bay City along with nieces and nephews: Patti, Scott, Mary, Dawn and Rob.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents, Jacob and Alma (Golz) Weber; sister, Jeanette Thierbach; brothers-in-law, William Thierbach and Robert Davis; niece, Cheryl Davis; and 1 great niece and 2 great nephews.
A special thank you to Linda Lefler from Comfort Keepers for her dedicated service and support over the last 4 years.
