McCOMB, Iris Elaine (Bergquist) – of Davison, MI, age 82, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 1PM Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Jim Olah officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Richfield Union Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 5-8 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday.
Iris was born in Prescott, MI on December 12, 1935, daughter of the late Edward and Meta (VanSickle) Bergquist. Iris was married to Lawrence McComb on November 5, 1955 and together they raised four sons, 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Iris was such a giving person. You could always find her working in the church kitchen. She was very supportive of her children and grandchildren’s sports and never missed an event with her cowbell in hand. Iris never missed a high school or college graduation and was extremely proud to have one son and three grandsons in the service.
Iris is survived by 2 sons, Tony (Pam),Tim (Janie); daughter-in-law, Bonnie McComb;15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob, Aileen, Betty, Delores and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence and two sons, Larry and Bobby.
