Sharon Darlene Powell, 72, of Grand Blanc formerly of Hadley, died Tuesday November 3, 2020. She was born March 21, 1948 in Detroit to parents Wallace and Edith (Rye) Abramson.
Sharon owned and operated Country Jim’s Restaurant, for over 25 years. One of her ultimate passions was shopping; she was always ready to go, especially with coupons or a sale. She loved meeting up with people to eat, helping others and just not staying still. Frank and Sharon loved day trips to Port Huron, music, dancing and being members of the Baptist Church of Hadley. At the Baptist Church of Hadley, Sharon was proud of being in the charge of the nursery for many years. She loved the the time spent with the children! Above all else, family was so important to her.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband: Frank Powell, children: Andy Powell, Darlene (Fred) Harvey, Michele Jackier, Ben (Christy) Powell, Corrina (Bradley) Overmyer, Cathy (Rod) Woodman, grandchildren: Tabitha, Bianca, Lukas (& Ashley), Kayla (& Nic), Luca, Leighanna, Tiffany (& Jesse), Alisha, Nicklaus, Abigail, Danielle, Ashton, Brittani, Alivia, several great-grandchildren, siblings: Raymond Abramson and Cheryl (Chuck) McDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jim Lee, sister: Barbara Lawrence and her parents.
Due to public concerns with Covid, Sharon’s family is holding private services. However, a webcast will be made available for everyone, this Saturday, through the Muir Brothers website. Interment will be in the Imlay Township Cemetery mausoleum. A public memorial service will be scheduled when it is safe to do so.
