GLYNN, James Kenneth – of Davison, age 87, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 16, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St. Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Interment will take place following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Friday at the church.
James was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on February 19, 1936, son of the late Hugh and Mary (Kenney) Glynn. In high school he met the love of his life. Jim (Ken) married Donna Lee on August 11, 1956, in Flint, Michigan. They have celebrated 66 years of marriage and raised 6 children. Jim will be missed by all for his kindness, loyalty, humor and devotion to his family. His passions included golf, reading and traveling to northern Michigan. Jim graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. Jim retired from GM after 31 years of service.
James is survived by his wife, Donna Louise; children Kathleen, Tom (Dawn), Dolores (Dale), Karen (Tony), Joe and Lorrie; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Beverly), Kathy (Pat) and Denny (Kathy); many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mary Glynn; siblings, Bud, Rosemary, Dolly, Billy, Peter and Christine; grandson, Steven James.
Special love to his daughter, Lorrie, for being his constant loving caregiver/nurse through the years and advocating for his utmost care. She is his hero!
