CASTRO, Rogelio David "Roy" - Age 86, of Flushing, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes: Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (The service will be live Streamed and can be viewed via Roy's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Mr. Michael Castro and Rev. Earl Fisher officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 2-9 PM and Saturday from 12 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the family, c/o Sharp Funeral Homes.
Roy was born September 24, 1938 in McAllen, TX, the son of Leopoldo and Consuelo (Perez) Castro. He married Antonia "Toni" Hurtado December 20, 1958 in Flint and she preceded him in death September 5, 2010. He retired from GM Flint Metal Fab. as a member of UAW after 30 years of service. He was an Apostle, Evangelist and Missionary who dedicated his life to faithfully serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was an accomplished vocalist who loved his family dearly, and was known for his playful sense of humor.
Surviving are: his children, Hilda (Dennis) McNamara of Flushing, Consuelo "Connie" (Mark) McNamara of Benzonia and Beatriz "Bea" (Bruce) Castro-Leeman of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Monica (Kelly) Toombs, Sarah (John) Lutze, Dawn Muma, Andrea (Daniel) Baumgart, Mark David (Carmen) McNamara, Michael David (Julia) Castro, Kayla Tsosie; and Kristopher (Marcie) Tsosie; great grandchildren, Samantha, Alexus, Juleana, Devin, Tyler, John David, Savannah, Analisa, Joey, Blake, Mario, Caleb, Aiden, and Jayden; great-great grandchildren, Lylah and Isaac, extended family Jahki, Bella, Jakhyla, Khyrei, he was Papa Roy to many; sisters-in-law, Paula Castro and Marion Padilla, and many beloved nephews and nieces.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Leopoldo and Consuelo Castro, his beloved wife and best friend Antonia Castro, his granddaughter Krystal Tsosie, and his siblings Raphael Castro, Alicia Castro, Oscar Castro, Guillermo Castro, Abigail Castro , Leopoldo Castro, Beatriz Garcia, and their beloved spouses.
