CURTIS, Dorina G. – Of Flint, age 87, died Sunday, April 10, 2022 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Berean Baptist Church, 6705 Rustic Ridge, Flint,
Robert L. Dickie II officiating.
Visitation 11am Saturday at church until the time of the service.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Berean Baptist Church.
Dorina was born in Manistique, Michigan on February 5, 1935, the daughter of the late Earl and Albertine (Forrest) Swayer. She married Russell Wood in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1959. She married David Curtis in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 1995. Dorina was a member of Berean Baptist Church, where she taught 4 and 5 year old children for 50 years. She was one of the last original members of the church. Dorina came to know the Lord as a young teen and faithfully served him until the end. She worked for Citizens Bank for 37.5 years reaching the level of Bank Officer. She loved well and was loved by all who knew her.
Surviving are brother, Gary Swayer;
Many nieces and nephews;
Daughter, Marlene Huyck;
Grandsons, Gary Huyck and David Bleck;
Great-grandchildren, Caleb, Dylan, Olivia and Joey;
And special friends, Roger and Alice Redick.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Baby Doris, Marjorie Swayer, Natalie Olson, Merle Mound and Sharon Fish and brother, Lloyd Swayer.
