Lindsey, Phyllis Marie – of Clio, Age 94 Went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 20, 2022 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2022 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Carl Lindsey officiating. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 2-8 PM on Tuesday May 24, 2022, and from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Wednesday May 25th, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Burial will occur at Flint Memorial Park in Clio following the service.
Phyllis was born on March 30, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to the late Samuel and Nettie (Walker) Shumaker of Clio. She was the seventh of ten children born to the couple.
Phyllis was married to the late Lester A. Lindsey on July 8, 1946 in Flint, MI and the couple were married for 60 years. The couple had seven children and resided in Clio for much of that time. She also a past member of the Auxiliary for the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Chevrolet Motor Post #3087 of Flint, MI.
Phyllis enjoyed playing bingo weekly with friends and family at the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452 post in Clio, MI; and watching her beloved Detroit Tigers on television which she rarely missed a game.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff of Both McLaren Regional Medical Center and Regency Rehabilitation Center of Grand Blanc for their diligent care of Phyllis over the past four months.
Phyllis is survived by Sons James Lindsey of Clio, MI and Carl Lindsey of Fernandina Beach, FL; Daughter Genevieve (Loretta) Mansfield of Mount Morris, MI. Brothers Donald Shumaker Of Houghton Lake, MI and Leroy Shumaker of Clio, MI. 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the husband Lester Lindsey, son John Lindsey, and daughters Ruth Ann Neeley, Donna Camp, and Linda Brown. Please sign our guestbook or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
