WARD, Erma Lois (Taylor), age 87, of Flint, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 30th, surrounded by her daughters. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday, October 4th at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Rev. Marvin Herman officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. There will also be a visitation Sunday 3-7PM and Monday 10AM prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Erma was born October 8th, 1933 in Flint, MI, the daughter of the late Cassius David and Nettie Bertha (Small) Taylor. She graduated from R.N Mandeville High School where she met the love of her life Gene, and they were married in Swartz Creek on August 20, 1955. Together they raised 6 children. Family meant everything to Erma, and her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. Erma retired from Curtis Printing Company after 20 plus years, and afterward enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was very active with Bristol United Methodist Church, taking on many roles over the 50 years she was a member, and in her leisure time she enjoyed sewing, puzzles, many crafts, and camping with her family. Surviving are her 4 children, Diane McConnell (Rick) of Prudenville, Kimberly Carlin (Todd) of Schoolcraft, Lynette Ward of Flint, Leigh Suthard (Tim) of DeLeon Springs , FL; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sister in law, Sharon Stevenson; sister in law Arlene Taylor; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Eugene “Gene” in 2013, daughter, Karen Ward in 2010; and son, Dennis Ward in 2012.
