MASON, Delores “Dee” (Totten) – of Birch Run, age 76, died Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Hampton Manor of Montrose. Funeral service will be held 1PM Monday, January 9, 2023, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial will follow at Birch Run Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
Dee was born May 27, 1946, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to the late Robert and Agnes (Christensen) Spencer. On October 30, 1965, Dee married William “Bill” Totten, and together they raised three beautiful children. Bill preceded her in death on August 7, 1980. On June 17, 1983, Dee married Edwin “Ned” Mason, and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2014. Dee was a proud stay at home mother and wife for much of her life. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dee was very active in girl scouts, boy scouts, and little league with her children, traveled to watch her grandchildren participate in many of their events, and enjoyed keeping her hands busy with embroidering. Her door was always open, as she had an abundance of love to give. She never missed a Detroit Tigers game and represented them proudly. Above all, Dee was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Dee is forever loved by her children: Scott (Laurie) Totten, Sandra (Dan) Newcombe, and Mark (Tonya) Totten; Grandchildren: Ryan (Sarah) Totten, Megan Totten, William Newcombe, Joshua Totten, Kailyn Totten, and Shelby (Cameron) Thompson; Great grandchildren: Charlie, Lillian, Alex, and Myles; Sister, Janet (Jack) Schneider; Brother, Roger (Teri) Spencer; Sister-in-law, Brenda Spencer; Brother-in-law, Craig Pena; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Dee was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Rita Critel, Louise Pena, and Chuck Spencer. |
