Rye, Camilla Ann of Flushing, age 88, died Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Majestic Care in Flushing. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial of cremated remains at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Camilla was born in Pequaming, Michigan on August 14, 1937, the daughter of William and Agnes (Benson) Schmidlin. She married David Rye at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Flint on February 9, 1957, and just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Together with her husband, they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and going on cruises. She also enjoyed doing cross-stitch. Camilla adored the schnauzer dogs she had through the years.
Camilla is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Kimberly (Ted) Woods; grandchildren, Christopher (Mindy) Thompson, Michael (Jennah) Thompson, Parker (Marisa) Woods, Allison (Adam) VanHorn, Alexander (fiancée, Hannah) Rye; great-grandchildren, Khloe, Kase, Ivy, Henry, Johnathan; special niece, Sue Marshall and many nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur baby, Daisy. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Rye; her parents; and brother, Robert Schmidlin. |
