VINTON, Marjorie E. – Of Swartz Creek, age 82, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Hyde Park Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Marjorie’s son, Michael officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Marjorie was born in Flint, Michigan on July 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Samuel and Madie (Hubbard) Hopkins.
She married John "Jack" Vinton on August 13, 1949, in Swartz Creek, MI.
Marjorie was a member of the Swartz Creek Church of Christ. She was Treasurer of the Ladies Association for Christian Education with the Valley Christian Academy.
Surviving are three children, Jeffrey, Karen and husband Paul Arnell and Michael;
eight grandchildren, Katie (Jason), Corie, Ryan, Bethany, Jacob, Cody, Zach and Hunter;
great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Lucas, Morgan and Marie;
sister, Cora Larsen;
two brothers, Richard (Murlene) Hopkins and Phillip (Carol) Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on May 14, 2012; parents and sister, Kathren Hopper.
