Morris, Bruce Raymond AKA grandpa of Flushing, age 88, died Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Angel Garcia will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the time of the service at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hemophilia Foundation or Camp Barakel.
Bruce was born in Flint, Michigan on July 17, 1935, the son of Raymond and Anita (Anderson). He married Cherri Engle on September 24, 1989, in Rockland, Maine. Bruce was employed by General Motors where he worked as a supervisor.
Bruce loved Jesus and attended Mayfair Bible Church and had many friends who will cherish his memory. As an avid outdoorsman, Bruce loved fishing, boating, foraging for mushrooms, rock hunting and polishing, and gardening his father’s heirloom strawberries and shooting pool. He enjoyed tractors of all kinds and tinkering with everything. Together with his wife, Cherri, they enjoyed riding motorcycles. His greatest joys were his Savior who he shared with everyone till the end and his family.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Cherri; children, Gary (Christine) Morris, Margaret (Greg) Riley, Joyce Webster, Tim (Cheri) Morris, Anne (Don) Bellamy, Susan (Shane) Haskin; grandchildren, Gregg (Sarah) Riley, Bruce Tyler Morris, Dan (Angie) Hewitt, Sadie Callahan, Justin (Andrea) O'Hara, Chad, Ariel (Chuck) Whitworth, Alyssa, Sarah, Ashley, Doni; great-grandsons, Jack and Kellan Riley; and special friends, Russ and Diane Funsch and Jay Hewitt. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eshton Hewitt; brother, Bob Morris; and his parents. |
