GEORGE, Barbara J. – of Columbiaville, age 82, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at McLaren Lapeer Region. A Funeral Service will be held 11:30 AM Monday, July 3, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Lance Fischer officiating. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of the service on Monday, July 3, 2023.
Barbara was born in Flint, MI on June 6, 1941, daughter of the late Vern and Marie (McLain) McQueen. She married Robert George on February 8, 1958, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2008. Barbara enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting. She enjoyed being with her sisters, especially on their “sister days”. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Debra Hodges and Sherry (Todd) Angle; grandchildren, Amy Strong, Todd (Heather) Angle, Joel (Trista) Angle and Deedra (Steve) Gibson; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Sam) Zinn, Beverly Zinn, Karen (Larry) Betz and Nancy (Dan) Springsteen; close friend, Jim Himebaugh; and many other loving friends and family. She was preceded in death by sisters, Helen (Wayne) Adkins and Margaret (Bill) Davis; and her beloved little Sugar.
